Is gum disease reversible?
The earliest stage, gingivitis, is reversible with a professional cleaning and good daily care. Once the disease moves past the gums into the bone, the goal shifts to stopping the damage and rebuilding what we can.
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
Most adults benefit from a cleaning every six months. If you have signs of gum disease, we may recommend cleanings every three to four months until your gums are healthy again.
Does flossing really help?
Yes. Brushing alone cannot reach between teeth. Floss, water flossers, and interdental brushes all work. The best tool is the one you will actually use every day.
Can gum disease be passed from person to person?
The bacteria that contribute to gum disease can be shared through saliva, but having those bacteria in your mouth does not mean you will get gum disease. Daily care and regular cleanings are the protective factors.
What if my gums never bleed but I still have other signs?
Bleeding is just one of several signs. Some people have gum disease without bleeding, especially smokers. Trust the bigger picture. If something feels off, get it checked.
